When I tell clients, prospective clients, friends or acquaintances that I am an intellectual property lawyer it typically generates either a glazed stare or an assumption that I am a patent attorney. If I add that I am a business lawyer it does not generally resonate the way "corporate attorney" does - nor does it have the same ring. However, since "corporate attorney" does not accurately convey the practice area I refrain from describing myself as such. Similarly "Estate Planning" suggests to many that the practice area excludes anyone with a net worth that does not meet or exceed seven figures.
The content on this (under construction) page will explain what these practice areas actually mean and how my knowledge helps my clients.
